Summary

Researchers evaluated if motion-tracking sensor data during a laparoscopic ventral hernia repair could identify top- and lower-tier performers among 94 residents in a simulated setting. They concluded that differences in motion data can effectively identify learning needs and enable rapid review of surgical videos for coaching purposes.
