Summary

In a single-blinded, nonrandomized study, 12 general surgeons who regularly performed laparoscopic operations underwent 3-5 coaching sessions over 6-19 weeks focused on objective interpretation of observations and facilitative capacity building. After completion of the coaching program, surgeons’ self-assessment accuracy and correlation to experts’ ratings improved significantly compared to their baseline self-assessments.
