Summary

16 medical students were asked to complete two video-recorded suturing tasks 10 minutes apart. In between tasks the intervention group reviewed their video and received feedback from an attending surgeon coach; the control group did not. Compared to blinded expert ratings of control group performance, students who received 10-min coaching had greater improvements in bimanual dexterity. Interestingly, non-coached control students had greater improvements in efficiency and tissue handling ratings.
